BITTEN!

I watched New Moon today, and after an excruciating and haphazardly dangerous week of waiting, I could finally tell myself that it's over with. As agonizing as it sounds, I purposely waited for a week after opening cause I expected it wouldn't be packed wall to wall anymore. But guess what?! Those multitude of Twilight fans (who are barely in their puberty) came in wicked digits, and it was nothing short of a pandemonium out there! You could even consider us lucky for getting a seat.

I can't really say that I was satisfied with the movie cause you know the thing about sequels, and also I'm not really a big fan of Chris Weitz. I know he could do better (or was the budget too small?). Good thing the movie has it's strengths (no matter how small it is), and although it's not enough to veil all the flaws, it kept us glued to our seats and refrained us from storming our way out and demanding a refund.

The only thing I love about the movie is seeing Edward in all his shirtless glory, nevermind Jacob.. I can't get over the fact that he has to wear platform shoes to look taller. There's also this kiss between Edward and Bella. I got to say it's wicked! Passionate yet gentle, almost "churchy" but also intense. Acting-wise I like the old Edward better when he was more highschool-ish, relaxed and upbeat. The movie may have called for a more serious type, but he came off a little too stiff. He totally needs to work on that or the next two movies would be a flop (but then again maybe not). Ok.. Why am I so darn hard to please?

Challenging Korea.

While making my usual late night rounds at youtube, I came across a video ~ an excerpt from an old episode of the now defunct TV show "Extra Challenge" that features Cesar Montano in Korea. I actually watched the whole episode (with Carmina-Zoren, Sunshine-Cesar) a few years back, but this was my favorite part.



There are 3 things I find interesting about this video;

* I was never a fan of Cesar so I didn't know he could look this ehem.. 'cute' in a bahag costume.

* It's probably staged but it looks like he knows his way around the kitchen.

* The way Mrs. Kim talks in tagalog is really funny.. Especially the part where she asked "walang tulog?"... her intonation is so pinoy! I also find it interesting that she's married to a Filipino. It's usually the other way around so her case is quite rare..

Save the Cheerleader, Save the World sucks.

Ok, I'm so done with Heroes... I'm never gonna watch a single episode again. It's too much of a jigsaw puzzle now that it doesn't make any sense. The plot doesn't have the 'oomph' like before, and excuse me if I say it's totally outrageous and ridiculously unbelievable. It's a far cry from the first season that totally gripped me breathless with their wild and unexpected turn of events.

I'd rather watch "How I met your mother". I just love how Neil Patrick Harris plays that heterosexual, womanizing Barney. He exhibits this unique vibe that makes him so believable. I was a bit skeptic at first cause he's one of the most openly gay celebrities in Hollywood, and for me that's one tangible reason that should hinder his believabilty as a performer (only for that particular role of course). But I was wrong cause he delivers the 'punch' unlike any other. To me, he's unmistakably one of the best actors on television right now. And no matter how idiotic, pugnacious, and obnoxious his future roles may be, I'd still be a fan... just like when he was still playing Doogie Howser M.D. ^^

Since I got plenty of time in my hands, I tried making this slideshow video of Robert Pattinson from the movie "Twilight" and I posted it on Youtube.. I got tired watching other people's video so I tried making it myself, hoping I could come up with something even better. But I'm totally a newbie so please bear with me. And I know I'm not supposed to rant about this, but the windows that I use here is in "K-O-R-E-A-N"! I could change it to English but I didn't want Chris to feel uncomfortable cause afterall, it's his computer.

Absurd as it may seem, but I can't shrug Edward's face out of my head. He has affected me tremendously that I bought all four books from the Twilight Saga. I finished the first book "Twilight", 3 days after I got it. I'm looking forward to start with the next book "New Moon" hopefully by tomorrow. I acknowledge my addiction instead of fighting it, he has been my fix, keeping me sane (or insane?) throughout the day. And it aint gonna stop till I set foot in London, and I get to breathe the same british air as he does.



A lousy update:

I started reading the next book "New Moon" last night and I'm done by dinner time today. I wish it could've entertained me longer.

I can't, I just can't seem to shake this whole Robert Syndrome thing right out of my head. I badly need an antidote...! I've been looking at his pics, videos, interviews, and even his songs.. What more can I do...?

It's totally outrageous how hot he is! I can't believe I would ever see a guy (well, not in real life) as beautiful as he is. It's not fair, if all men are just like him then there will be no poverty, nor crime or war... People are just gonna be busy looking and droolin at his face.

Sigh, I need to go to London. I want to... I have to experience breathing the same British air as he does... ^^

The Twilight Phenomena

Well, I'm not one of the crazed fans raving about their favorite book turned into a movie. But I guess I'm a bit psyched knowing it has so many fans out there. So last night, I dragged Chris to go to the theaters and watch "Twilight" with me. He wasn't exactly thrilled and he didn't even try to conceal his dismay, just kept on lamenting that it's a teeny-bopper, high-school flick and he wasn't even the slightest bit interested in movies like that. But since I grabbed him strongly by the arm, he didn't exactly have a choice. So we finally got the 7:20 pm tickets and since the show was about to start 2 minutes after he purchased it, I didn't bother to buy some munchies. Glad I didn't cause as soon as I sat comfortably, it started.

What can I say...? I realized three things.. 1. Just like Bella, I'm irrevocably and unconditionally in love with Edward Cullen(Robert Pattinson) 2. He's a vampire 3. Yes, it's a typical teeny-bopper flick (with a slight twist) and I don't care. If I'm going to rate it in a 10 point scale, I'd give it a 10.5! It's not actually the best movie there is or does it have the most exceptional story of all time.. but it caught 101% of my attention and with every minute that passed, I silently wished it wouldn't end soon. How's that for a movie?! The story is so-so, mediocre... Acting was good, they portrayed the roles quite convincingly. Sound effects was not bad at all and I like the music they played. But the cast is exceptional, they did a good job getting all those actors and actresses.. they were all good looking, (eye-candy all the way esp. Edward!).

I'm not sure what is happening to me.. I'm not really acting like myself after watching the movie. It sort of has some spell on me.. I'm smitten, I know... I couldn't sleep last night, I was wide awake at 2 am, watching Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire just because Robert Pattinson is there and I'm not even a Harry Potter fan! And in my deranged mind, I'm thinking.. He's 6'1 and I'm 5'5, He's Brit and I'm (gulp!) Asian...(so on and so forth..). Oh God, I need a cure.

Hamasaki Heaven.

I'm currently hooked with Ayumi Hamasaki's "Heaven". When I heard this song, I kept on thinking where I heard it first cause I can't seem to remember. It turns out, it was the theme song of "Shinobi, Heart Under Blade", a Japanese movie I watched not so long ago. Yukie Nakama played the lead girl here and she's also my favorite Japanese actress. I first saw her in "The Ring", then I watched her in Tokyo Wankei (again, a personal favorite) where she played a 'Zainichi Kankokujin' (how can I forget?). I even tediously downloaded all of Gokusen cause she's in it.

Ayumi is such a talented singer, some would even say she's the best in Japan. So I hate it when others say she's too old cause good music doesn't come with age. I totally dig her voice! To me, it's like a lullabye... soft, calm and soothing, doing something more than just putting me to sleep!

Akon-ic

It's damn retarded that Akon recently made a pact to leave U.S. and return to Africa if John McCain wins the presidential election! Hate it when celebrities make dumb promises like this.

I'm a big Akon fan though I'm yet to memorize the lyrics of his songs. I think he's very talented justified by his fast ascend to stardom among other brooding artists. And although I don't have any inkling about the elections (except for Obama being slightly ahead of McCain by several points), it's sad to see someone betting on it. I just hope he'll keep his word if McCain really wins.

Way too Hot!

I'm just super excited to post something about one of my biggest celeb crush.. none other than Chace Crawford! Gossip Girl was then my daily fix, just looking at his dreamy eyes makes me squirm all day long. I remember watching all of season 1 in just 3 days. And I felt agitated the whole time I was waiting for the season 2 premier when he's about to hook up with S at the Hamptons. I just couldn't get enough of him.

I'm totally ecstatic he has now grazed the covers of VMan Magazine. I'm a total blockhead for not having any idea what this magazine is all about and that is because I only read Cosmo (yeah, you can call me tacky for all I care cuz that's the truth haha....). I guess it's some sort of 'Vogue' for men? If there's anyone who could tell me what this magazine is and where it can be purchased, I would appreciate it.

Honestly, I expected more... I think his brows are overly groomed and his smile is rather awkward. I don't have to be Tyra to know that these are not 'good' photograps, but nevertheless, he's still smokin hot! I just hope the rumors about his gender are false.

Seeing this picture makes me think two things... this is what Rihanna gets to bang, and what the hell is he wearing?!!! Something tells me gravity probabaly played it's part or it's just a wardrobe-malfunction, as simple as that.

Chris Brown is probably one of the most talented performer out there... and if ever...only if ever he's really starting a trend... I wanna beg him to stay away from that jeans!!!!

For reasons I don't know... whenever I see a pic of him, my head sub-consiously play the song "with you, with you, with you, with you..." over and over again... It just doesn't bother me much though.

Amy Winehouse~~~

I'm sure a lot of people know who Amy Winehouse is... and for the sake of those who don't; she's a multi-grammy award winner, has lots of tats, sporting a beehive, and has a very open battle with addiction ranging from mj, to prescription pills, meth, crack, to cocaine and even heroin. She's a self-proclaimed alcoholic and even sought help early on. The news mentioned that she's also suffering from anorexia/bulimia and has a tendency to self-inflict pain.

I think this girl is very talented and I'm one of those who appreciate her very unique style; a far-cry from pop-star wannabe's that basically sound the same and infiltrates the music industry everywhere... She's a breath of fresh air when you are bummed out of your wits and wanna hear something new. But with all the demons she's fighting, I think she wouldn't live past her 40's or even 30's and she'll be a big loss to the music industry and to those who like and appreciate 'real' and 'unscathed' music like hers.

It doesn't help that she's surrounded with people who just want to exploit and take advantage of her. I was glad to hear that she finally sought intervention to help cure her addictions.. but the news is reporting that she didn't stick to her treatments and finally fell of the wagon to sobriety... not another another 'Lindsay' please... you're way better than that!!!!

As much as I hate calling Sandara as 'the Philippine Boa', I hate to admit that she looked cute in the photos and there is some sort of chemistry?! (how should I know?) I'm pertaining to their faces... you know... just by looking at people's faces, you'd feel some sort of chemistry going on between them. Well, I don't trust my instinct so probably it's just the '"weird me" kickin in.

I was used to seeing her on screen with Hero Angeles speaking our language, and now that she's with her kind (how racist of me!!!), I feel rather mesmerized. I shouldn't be saying this, but I'm really anticipating to watch the whole musical video of Gummy's song "Mianhaeyo" or "Sorry".

I just hope she wouldn't say a damn word in the video and shut her mouth the whole time and just look pretty 'cause everytime she opens her mouth I'm afraid she's going to sing the song "In or out, Am I in or out". I'm THAT scarred for life...

Sandara Park already made her official debut in the Korean Entertainment Industry! She recently appeared in a music video together with T.O.P from Big Bang and she does have a kissing scene y'all!

It is said that she'll appear in a drama soon. She was even referred to as 'BoA of the Philippines'.

I have nothing against Sandara but her song "in or out" scarred me for life. Not to mention the cheesy commercial she did for a brand of shampoo ~ 'walang sabit di tulad ng sa iba~~~' OMFG, that's it I can't seem to shake these song out of my f***** brain.

Does it mean I'll be seeing her on Korean TV anytime soon?!

I really can't believe that these shoes are worth a million dollars!!! It's a beauty alright, but not the most beautiful I have seen. It was created by Stuart Weitzman for the Oscars bearing 1,800 diamonds to boot.
I'm not into sexy stilletos and the likes cause I can't wear them but it doesn't mean I can't appreciate them. But this one for me is nothing out of the ordinary.
I wonder how it feels to wear them....

Sad to hear about Ne-Yo being busted by the police due to reckless driving last Feb 19. This smooth RNB superstar is about to stage a one-night concert in Araneta Coliseum on the 29th of Feb. I so wanna go!!! Bad news is.... tickets are all sold out!!! I'm not wondering why cause these are the type of concert that one shouldn't really miss. Official VIP seats are priced at 4,500 p and general admission is about 600 p. I also heard that there are very-limited VIP seats (probably the best spot in the house) selling for 7,500 to 10,000 p.

A post about Paris Hilton

Paris Hilton is in Korea right now to promote FILA and do several endorsements and photoshoots. She arrived at Gimpo Airport in Seoul all clad in her signature color pink of course by FILA. She's staying at Grand Hyatt Hotel, a luxurious and top-of-the-notch 5-star hotel situated in Gangnam, Seoul. I wonder why she isn't staying at the Hilton....
I am excited to see her on TV and know about what she thinks of Korean men. Will she be hitting the nightspots here? I guess not cause she didn't do it in Japan. Well, I just hope to see her soon on TV... I wanna know what she has to say about Korea!
